Creating Balance, Focus, and Success in Your Personal and Professional Life

No matter how much we enjoy our jobs, we all need a break now and then. We look forward to those ten or fifteen minutes and the opportunity to step away from the tasks at hand so we can rest, rejuvenate, and fuel our minds and bodies. My experience has taught me, however, that it’s not so much how much time we have, but how we use the time we’re given.

No matter what they do or what corporate ladder level they are on, people perform at their best when they’re rested and free from stress and outside pressures. So, during your next break, I invite you to take a vacation—a vacation of the mind. In four short minutes, this Subconscious Makeover™ technique will take you to a calm place where you can reduce stress and pressure, while gaining focus, confidence, and the energy you need to perform at your very best.

You see, your subconscious mind is your greatest tool toward creating balance, focus, and fulfillment. By choosing the thoughts and experiences you feed your mind, you have the amazing ability to change the way you think and experience your life. No matter what service you are in, empowering your mind is an important element in your success. To enhance your performance and abilities, reducing stress and guiding your mind with the right suggestions is crucial to personal and professional empowerment. The best part is that anyone can do it, even if you’re stressed, busy, or overwhelmed. The benefits are immediate—in four short minutes, you’ll feel as relaxed and refreshed as if you’ve had a two-hour power nap.

Give yourself four minutes today to relax, reduce stress, and create a clear pathway for success. Find a quiet place where you can sit and relax. Close your eyes and imagine a calm, peaceful place—a park, the beach, or any place that invites relaxation. Breathe in, slowly and deeply, envisioning yourself in this place, free from stress, schedules, and worries. Exhale fully, cleansing your body of outside chatter and pressures. Continue breathing, relaxing more and more with each breath. Feel yourself fall further and further into a deep, relaxing state. Once you’re fully relaxed, feed your subconscious with new and empowering thoughts and affirmations which are aligned with your goals. I am free of stress…I am confident and committed to my career goals…I am free of distractions and have control of my thoughts. Whatever your goals are, affirm them during this state of deep relaxation.

After four minutes, slowly open your eyes, letting your breathing return to normal. You’ll feel relaxed, refreshed, and energized. Your subconscious will start to use the suggestions you placed in your mind to create the change you want. You’ll see results the first time, but as you repeat your four-minute vacation of the mind, it will become more effective and so will you.

Accountability Factor in Business and in Life!

How to succeed in business, overcome challenges, and create success in your life.

That sounds like a tall order, doesn’t it? We would all like success in our lives. It starts with not allowing suggestions, environment, society, or any other external influence to determine our reality.
As a motivational speaker for corporate events, sales conferences, and conventions, I’m asked all too often how people can succeed in everything they do. How does one empower themselves personally and professionally? Perhaps, the greatest knowledge one can gain is knowing his or her true self. All too often, we let our true selves become dormant while we’re busily tending to work and other responsibilities.

Take a step back and reacquaint yourself with the person you are today. Learn how you’ve changed through the years, and then you will have the ability to make the changes you need to make to be true to yourself for years to come.

"You can live a lifetime and, at the end of it, know more about other people than you know about yourself." -- Beryl Markham

We must first learn to become more aware of ourselves. To be “ACCOUNTABLE,” we must STOP and PAY ATTENTION! We need to STOP and objectively watch ourselves in action.

Be Accountable to Your…

  • Health / Wellness
  • Wealth
  • Happiness
  • Fitness
  • Career
  • Goals
We live most of our lives by habit. These habits can be good or bad. They also can keep us stuck in patterns that limit our experience of life. Once we detect a pattern we were previously unconscious of, we can choose differently, if we want. With awareness, comes choice, and with choice, we gain freedom. Self-discovery never ends! Whether you love him or hate him, look at Donald Trump—bold, arrogant, confident, successful, demanding, pompous, and sometimes charismatic. Regardless of your personal opinion, I believe he carries one trait common to his success and fame that we can all agree on—he is true to himself when it comes to his self-belief. He is authentic! Are you?

"To be authentic is literally to be your own author ..., to discover your own native energies and desires, and then to find your own way of acting on them." -- Warren G. Bennis

"Self-knowledge is the great power by which we comprehend and control our lives." -- Vernon Howard

Life is a growth process. Don’t get stuck spinning your wheels around who you were yesterday. Take the time to find out and acknowledge who you’ve become and let that knowledge guide you. Make it a habit to do this on a regular basis. Personal and professional growth requires ongoing effort and reinforcement. The greatest investments you will ever make are investing in yourself and holding yourself accountable.

My corporate keynote program offers executives and employees at all levels a way to bring out the best in themselves. If you are planning a corporate event, sales conference, or meeting, my programs can be customized to fit your audience and overall theme. They are developed to take you and your team to the next level of success.

Be Grateful

All too often, we take for things in our life for granted. We forget to be thankful for the people in our lives and the everyday blessings which surround us. We all have something to be grateful for, and it's the expression of gratitude which brings the greatest rewards. Being grateful for even the smallest things empowers our subconscious to appreciate those things and place importance on them. By being thankful for these things, our perception changes and new opportunities reveal themselves in our lives.

"It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light." - Aristotle Onassis

Did you accomplish a difficult task today? Be grateful for it! Thank the universe, thank yourself. Celebrate your achievement, no matter how small. Did you receive a kind word or praise? Embrace it and take a moment to bask in the glory of being appreciated. Thank the person who extended the praise, and take a minute or two to feel good about it. Maybe, you received an unexpected check in the mail or your load was lightened in some way today. Go ahead, be exuberant and say, "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship." - Buddha

Taking a moment to be thankful for the things and people in our life helps us view our world from a different perspective. Rather than being discouraged by what we don't have, we learn to find joy and blessings in the things we do have. Free yourself from the limitations of negativity and open yourself up to the positive benefits gained from an attitude of gratitude. Everyone has something to be grateful for, a home, a job, a loved one, a friend, the beauty of our surroundings or even the opportunity to experience one more day.

"Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements." - Napoleon Hill

New Years Resolutions Don’t Work!

Not another article about New Year’s Resolutions! In my opinion, THEY DON’T WORK! Don’t get me wrong, we all have good intentions, but studies have shown that only a small percentage of people actually have success with New Year’s Resolutions.  In fact, I will tell you that I hate the statement altogether. When I hear someone say I have a New Year’s Resolution, I really hear I am making an excuse to put something off another day.  Every day, I share with people that the key ingredient to changing a bad habit to a good habit is willpower. Willpower is driven by belief. If you have belief that you can do something, then why wait or put a date on when you will start?  What you are really doing is fueling the fire of procrastination!  You are increasing your belief that it is not possible by pushing off the start date. Sure, some people might have some success at first. Yes, there are people that have total success, and I commend those, as well.  But let's face it, if you really wanted to make a change, you should already have begun making that change and you would not be readying this article. Take a good intention and start by adding action.

If you truly have passion or a goal to change a behavior, then you need to train your brain right now. Change the way you think, and you will change your world. Pick the one thing you want to do and start by developing the structure of a new habit that you desire more. Take small steps every day to make changes and reinforce your desire with belief of what you want. This repetitive programming will become a habit. Each day will intensify your willpower.  Your old unlimited belief and bad habit is then replaced with new repetition of a good habit.  Hold yourself accountable and start right now to make a change that you desire.  Don’t allow any thought of change to be random. Put it to action now with just a small, simple act of willpower and see how each day builds to create the change you desire. When you see small changes by setting realistic expectations, you will reinforce your desire to stay on track.  So, start now and don’t put it off.  Learn more about my programs by signing up to receive my free motivational email at rickykalmon.com.
